Cabaret

John Barbetta (Max) is making his first appearance in a Studio Mainstage production since performing in H2$ and Guys and Dolls. Since then, he's directed 2 Magic Trunk productions, Pinocchio and James and the Giant Peach, and has appeared in several others. Away from Studio, John has appeared the past 4 years in the Seton Hall Summer Theatre in the Round as well as this year's Strawberry One-Act Winter Festival at the Riant Theatre in NYC.

Martha Bauver (Costume Design) had placed her pinking shears in retirement, but the lure of creating 1930's lingerie for Cabaret was too hard to resist. She is a grad student at WPU in education, and hopes to be teaching math at a high school near you in a couple years. Previous costuming credits include Rocky Horror Live, Hello Dolly, H2$, and Quillow.

Keith Beechey (Ernst Ludwig) has been performing in Community Theater for 20 years. Roles range from Stanley in Street Car, to McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest . This is the first role with Studio Players.

Raine Brown (Helga) has spent over a decade training and performing at various prestigious acting schools and acting companies in NJ and NY. Most recently she has been seen on the Studio stage as Suzanne in Don't Dress for Dinner and Liz in Touch of Danger. Raine has been pursuing her film career and has been cast in numerous films such as Horror, Under Surveillance, and Nightmare at Shallow Point. You may have caught a quick glimpse of Raine when she was featured in both Sex and the City and Strangers with Candy.

Bob Caruso (Co-Director/Co-Lighting Designer) was Drama Director and Technical Director at West Essex HS for almost 30 years where he directed and designed the lighting for over 60 plays and musicals. He has been lighting designer at Passaic Valley Theater, for Jesus Christ Superstar and Chess. This past Fall he designed the lighting for The Little Princess at the Wings Theater in NYC. For Studio he was AD and lighting designer for Hello Dolly and lighting designer for James and the Giant Peach and Saturday Night, among others. He has appeared at Studio as the Ambassador in Don't Drink the Water, Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show, and Philip in Play On!. He just completed directing Studio's production of The Fantasticks.

Erica Daniels (Texas) is thrilled to be in this production of Cabaret. Past credits include: School House Rock, H2$, Sweet Charity, She Loves Me, and Kristy in Moment of Truth. Though a Political Science major now at Rutgers, she continues to study dance at Broadway Dance Center.

Nancy Delano (Rosie) is happy to return to Studio (Last seen in Guys and Dolls). She is a graduate from A.M.D.A's Conservatory in NYC, and a current student of Mary Feeney as well at the Broadway Dance Center. Credits include All In The Timing, independent film Possom Kingdom and Spike TV.

Tommy John Donaldson (Stage Manager) Ho There! Tommy is thrilled to be working on Cabaret. Past SM credits include: Ruthless, Fantasticks, Carnival, Joseph, among others at Theater Under The Stars. Recently Tommy has received a Perry nomination for Biondello in Taming of the Shrew.

Dana Fortunato (Frenchie) is thrilled to be a part of Cabaret. Previous roles include Joseph (Narrator), Grand Night for Singing, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (Frieda), Godspell (Sonia), Honk (Ida), and Footloose (Ariel). Other credits include West Minister Chapel Choir Tour for Hope '01'.

Amy Fox (costumes) is delighted to be making her costuming debut. Usually a backstage fixture as stage manager (past productions include Don't Dress for Dinner, Rocky Horror Live, and Play On! and the upcoming Breaking Legs) this is her first production working on costumes. Not at all handy with a needle and thread, she was surprised yet pleased to be asked to join veteran costumer Martha Bauver in the task of "dressing" this show.

Molly Frieri (Fritzi) Living in Cranford, NJ, Molly is in her 3rd year as a music education major at MSU. Although new to the Studio, Molly is no stranger to the stage. She has been seen with many NJCT groups in such shows as Smokey Joe's Cafe, Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, Guys and Dolls, and many others.

Carey Gisell (Young boy) played the role of Tiny Tim in the Yates Musical Theater's production of Christmas Carol at both the Paper Mill and the Westport Country Playhouses. He also appeared as Dopey in Yates's Snow White. He has done 3 shows with the Gas Lamp Players, including Bye, Bye Birdie (Randolph) and Peter Pan (Michael). He played Thor in Seton Hall's production of The Nerdand Gavroche in Passaic Valley's Les Mis. Carey lives in Glen Ridge and is in seventh grade.

Kimberly Griffin (Lulu) is thrilled to be playing a Kit Kat Girl, carrying on a "proud family tradition." A senior at Hawthorne HS, Kimberly's past shows include: A Musical Salute to Richard Rogers at OLT, Our Town (Mrs. Gibbs) at HHS, Sleeping Beauty (Minerva), Jekyll & Hyde (Red Rat Girl) at Smiling Rhino, and Honk! (Penny/Ensemble), and Zombie Prom (Ginger) at OLT.

Terry Holusha (Assistant Stage Manager) is delighted to be working with such a great cast and such a wonderful crew. A veteran of the Studio stage, he has appeared in such shows as The Rocky Horror Show, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Don't Drink the Water, Taming of the Shrew, Out Of Order, and many others.

Norm Keller (Herr Schultz) has acted and directed at the Playhouse for many years. Among his favorites are Forum, Li'l Abner, Around the Horn, A Touch of Danger, Noises Off, Chapter Two, and Murder Among Friends.

Mark Liebert (Co-Director/Set Designer) has been involved with Studio for 10 years where he has written, directed, designed, built, and acted in more than several shows (including: Quillow, Around the Horn, Don't Drink the Water, and Hello Dolly). Most recently he was seen on stage as Bernard in Don't Dress for Dinner , and Mortimer in The Fantasticks. Other favorites include Lenny in Rumors, and Mervyn Kant in The Sisters Rosensweig. Mark currently serves on the Studio Board.

Jason Neri (Musical Director) is a resident of Clifton and has served as Music Director for such shows as Schoolhouse Rock Live! (The Arts Trust), Once On This Island (Luna Stage), The Rocky Horror Show (Studio Players), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (Tri-State Actor's Theatre), The Apple Tree, Crazy For You, Baby, Nunsense, Godspell, Cinderella, and Guys & Dolls to name just a few.

Daniel Poulsen (Bobby) recent credits include: It's a Grand Night for Singing, Alice's Adventures Underground, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Phoenecian Women, Godspell, Othello, and Footloose (Ren). His professional credits include: Rumpelstilskin (Miller) and 3 Doors (Jimmy) at 12 Miles West. He is also a modern/salsa dance performer.

Brian Peeke (Emcee) is tickled various shades of fuchsia, magenta, and yes…even carnation pink to be making his Studio Players debut! Past regional and touring credits include Jesus in Godspell, Peter Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank, Snoopy in You're A Good Man…, and Arnold Epstein in Biloxi Blues.

Peg Peet (Fr. Schneider) is happy to be re-visiting her old friend Fraulien Schneider. A big thank you to the cast and crew of Cabaret for the warm welcome to Studio Players.

Jason Romas (Clifford Bradshaw) was last seen at the Studio as Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show. Since then he has been very busy performing both in NJ and NY. Some favorite roles include Cookie in Apricot Sky's production of Something About you and the 4th of July and Boyd in Fit To Be Tied at 12 Miles West.

Mark Rementilla (Herman) a freshman in college is excited to be in the cast of Cabaret at Studio Players. His first play was Give a Boy a Gun during his sophomore year in high school. Credits include: Lun Tha in The King and I, ensemble of Ragtime at TUTS, Mr. Cunningham and the Judge in To Kill A Mockingbird, Fred Graham in Kiss Me Kate, and Footloose at EH Playhouse as Jeter.

Jennifer Sammartino (Sally Bowles) This is Jennifer's second show at Studio Players. She was last seen here as Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly. Elsewhere she has been seen as Violet in Violet, Marguerite in The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Violet in Side Show.

Patrick Sansevere (Victor) is making his Studio debut in Cabaret. He has had major roles in productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Hamlet, and Death of a Salesman. The Secaucus native also starred in the One Act play The Apollo of Bellac and has performed selections from Pippin, Anything Goes, and Chicago.

Isaac Stackell (Co-Lighting Designer) This is Isaac's 3rd go-round at lighting design and tech with Studio since joining last year. Previously, he has appeared in or designed and ran lights for productions by Narrows Community Theatre in Bay Ridge.

Bianca Sutlovich (Fr. Kost) loves playing racy, comedic spitfires (art imitating life. Most recently seen in last season's production of Saturday Night.

Ashley Westbrook (Choreographer) has directed and choreographed a number of productions from musical theater to Shakespeare. She has worked as the dance intern for Disney's The Lion King on Broadway, and is thrilled to be working on Cabaret, allowing the Fosse within her free.

Richard Zielski (Customs Officer/Ensemble) Native of NJ, born in Newark now lives in Rahway. Graduated from Irvington HS, MSU in 1976 with a BS in Chemistry. Took private piano lessons for 8 years. Loves classical music. Occasionally played the church organ for Immaculate Conception in Maplewood. Computer Programmer by trade. Married with 2 children, Sarah age 13 & Daniel age 15.
