WHO'S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW

Wait Until Dark

Wait Until Dark
a thriller by Frederick Knott

Stan Amditis (Sgt. Carlino) is very happy to be performing once again at the Studio Playhouse to open the 2005 season. In 2004, Stan played the father in Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Iron Mountain), Speed in The Odd Couple (Smiling Rhino), The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of OZ (St. Catherine's), and Digby in Touch of Danger (Studio Players). Prior to that, Stan also played Franz in The Sound of Music (St. Catherine's) and Paravicini in Mousetrap (Studio Players).

Lydia Barbara Bashwiner (Assistant Stage Manager) is more than pleased to be a part of the team of this show. In real life, she is an attorney; however, the theatre has always been a part of her life. She was a founding member of the Verona H.S. Spotlight Players Parents Association and was involved (until her daughters graduated) in many aspects of productions there for 6 years.

Keith C. Beechey (Harry Roat) has been acting on the stage since 1976 with 20 years in community theatre. Favorite roles include Stanley in Street Car, Brick in Cat in a Hot Tin Roof , and McMurphy in Cuckoo's Nest.

Bob Caruso (Co-Lighting Designer) was Drama Director and Technical Director at West Essex High School for almost 30 years where he directed and designed the lighting for over 60 plays and musicals. He has been lighting designer for the Passaic Valley Summer Theater, for Jesus Christ Superstar and Chess. He recently designed the lighting for The Little Princess at the Wings Theater in NYC. For Studio he was assistant director and lighting designer for Hello Dolly and lighting designer for Breaking Legs, James and the Giant Peach, and Saturday Night, among others. He has appeared at Studio as the Ambassador in Don't Drink the Water, Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show, and Philip in Play On. He just completed directing Studio's productions of The Fantasticks and Cabaret.

Peter Curley (Sam Hendrix) is pleased to be returning to the stage at Studio after appearing in Jack and the Magic Beans last fall. He has also performed in Polish Joke at Theatre Under the Stars in West Orange, Aladdin at Twelve Miles West in Bloomfield, London Suite at Stony Hill Players in Summit, Grave Concerns, Great God Brown, and Look Homeward Angel at Elizabeth Playhouse in Elizabeth, and Office Plays and A Midsummer Night's Dream Revolving Door Studios/Bickford Theatre in Morristown.

Terry Holusha (Patrolman One) is delighted to finally be returning to the stage here at Studio. A veteran of over a dozen shows here, he has recently spent some time backstage on shows such as A Touch of Danger, The Fantasticks, and Cabaret. On stage credits include The Mousetrap, The Taming of the Shrew, Don't Drink the Water, Out of Order, See How They Run, and Arsenic and Old Lace. Later this season Terry will be making his directorial debut with the Magic Trunk production of Goldilocks on Trial in May.

Claudia Kalinowski (Sound Designer) has just finished directing the previous Studio production, Breaking Legs. Claudia has a BA in Theatre Fine Arts and designed sound professionally for a dozen years in radio. She was last seen on the Studio stage in Play On!, Rocky Horror Live, and Don't Drink the Water, and will be seen in the upcoming Studio production of The Little Mermaid. Claudia also co-directed last season's Don't Dress for Dinner with her real life leading man, Ken Budris.

Julia Karlin (Gloria) is a 10-year-old resident of Livingston. Past credits include James and the Giant Peach, He's the Wiz, and Annie. Julia studied voice, dance, and theater at PTW and at Front and Center for the Performing Arts, where she performed in the community with the Broadway Buddies. Julia recently starred in her camp production of Annie, Jr. as Miss Hannigan, and appeared in Livingston Community Players production of Oliver. Julia loves acting and looks forward to a lifetime on stage.

Judi Liebert (Stage Manager/Producer) has stage managed many productions at Studio as well as other theaters, this year adding a paid gig in Manhattan to her repertoire. Her favorites include Noises Off, Office Hours, Around the Horn, and Quillow the Musical. She is happy to be working again with her ever present partner, Mark, and a wonderful cast and crew.

Mark Liebert (Director/Set Designer) has been involved with Studio Players for eleven years where he has written, directed, designed, built and acted in more than several shows (including: Quillow, Around the Horn, Cabaret, and Hello Dolly). Most recently he was seen on stage as Tino in Breaking Legs and Mortimer in The Fantasticks. Other favorite roles include Lenny in Rumors, Walter Hollander in Don't Drink the Water, and Mervyn Kant in The Sisters Rosensweig. Mark currently serves on Studio Players Board of Managers.

Anthony Rubolotta (Mike Talman) This is Anthony's first production with the Studio Players. He is very proud to be working with this talented cast, and such a dedicated director and crew. Most recently, he served as assistant director on The Radburn Players of Fair Lawn's production of Up The Down Staircase.

Isaac Stackell (Patrolman Two) Having been involved with lighting and acting in several productions with N.C.T. in Brooklyn over the years, and now with Studio Players and M.O.C., Isaac Stackell takes to the boards for the first time (briefly) with Players in this production. For 30 years, he has enjoyed combining amateur theatrical and professional photographic skills (the lobby shots of this, and other casts). I marvel at the level of dedication and professionalism of Studio Players, and am proud to be a member of the group.

Syndi Szabo (Susy Hendrix) is very happy to be making her second appearance at Studio Players. She debuted here in their 2000 production of My Three Angels as Marie Louise. Syndi was last seen at Circle Players in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress as Meredith. Some of her favorite past roles are Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Mary Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life, and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
