WHO'S WHO IN THE CAST & CREW

Breaking Legs

Breaking Legs
a comedy by Tom Dulack

Ken Budris (Terrence O'Keefe/Set Designer) has been involved with Studio Players for several years onstage and off and currently serves as Production Manager. He has previously appeared in Studio's productions of Arsenic and Old Lace, Moon Over Buffalo, Murder Among Friends, Office Hours, Out of Order and Play On! (which he also directed). Ken's directing credits at Studio also include Don't Drink the Water and last season's Don't Dress for Dinner, which he co-directed with Claudia.

Bob Caruso (Lighting Designer) was Drama Director and Technical Director at West Essex High School for almost 30 years where he directed and designed the lighting for over 60 plays and musicals. He has been lighting designer for the Passaic Valley Summer Theater, for Jesus Christ Superstar and Chess. He recently designed the lighting for The Little Princess at the Wings Theater in NYC. For Studio he was assistant director and lighting designer for Hello Dolly and lighting designer for James and the Giant Peach, and Saturday Night, among others. He has appeared at Studio as the Ambassador in Don't Drink the Water, Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show, and Philip in Play On! . He just completed directing Studio's productions of The Fantasticks and Cabaret.

Amy Fox (Stage Manager/Costume Designer) a veteran stage manager at Studio from previous seasons Don't Dress for Dinner, Play On! , and Don't Drink the Water is happy to be working with Claudia Kalinowski in her solo debut as a Director here at the Playhouse. She is especially pleased to be working with several old friends, including her former partner in the afore mentioned crimes- er- ah- shows - Ken Budris. And, one last thing, after all these performances…Ohhhh, her feet are killin' her!

Claudia Kalinowski (Director/Sound Designer) is thrilled to be directing at Studio Players again after co-directing last season's Don't Dress for Dinner. Claudia has directed 4 other shows, set designed 15 shows, designed lighting for 8 shows, and designed sound for God knows how many shows. Claudia has a degree in Theatre Fine Arts and designed sound professionally for a dozen years in radio. She was last seen on the Studio stage in Play On! , Rocky Horror Live, Don't Drink the Water, and Saturday Night. Some favorites include Jacqueline in Don't Dress for Dinner, Viola in Twelfth Night, and the title role in Sophocles' Antigone.

Antony LaBozetta (Frankie Salvucci) is happy to be making his "return" after 10 years away from legitimate theater (and not enough years away from illegitimate theater). He has performed in various shows (including Prisoner of 2nd Avenue, Grease, Romeo & Juliet, and The Fantasticks) and done behind the scenes work (including the Man of La Manacha) as well and is very pleased to be returning to the stage on what will (hopefully) be a long and fun run onstage!

James Lesko (Mike Francisco) holds a BFA in Theatre from VCU and made his debut with Studio Players as The Old Actor in The Fantasticks. Some favorite roles recently have been Fagin in Oliver, Tartuffe in Tartuffe, and Falstaff in Merry Wives of Windsor with the Bergen County Players. Also with BCP, Run for Your Wife, You Can't Take It With You, Pack of Lies, and Epic Proportions. Some regional theatre includes: Trigorin in The Seagull, Queen Ubu in Ubu Roi, and Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls. James comes from a show biz family, his father was a Broadway musical director and his mother a professional singer in the original Broadway production of Guys and Dolls.

Mark Liebert (Tino DeFelice) has been involved with Studio Players for ten years where he has written, directed, designed, built and acted in more than several shows (including: Quillow, Around the Horn, Don't Drink the Water, and Hello Dolly). Most recently he was seen on stage as Mortimer in The Fantasticks, and Bernard in Don't Dress for Dinner. Other favorite roles include Lenny in Rumors and Mervyn Kant in The Sisters Rosensweig. Mark recently co-directed Cabaret here at the Playhouse and is looking forward to his next directorial project Wait Until Dark which opens in March. Mark currently serves as Studio Players Secretary.

Greg Louis (Lou Graziano): Studio Playhouse debut. Like Lou, Greg would kill for his 2 awesome kids (Courtney and Dan); unlike Lou, he means kill metaphorically. When not on stage Greg is the Owner of the Louis Search Group; that means he's a headhunter. The Executive Search kind not the grass skirt, bone through the nose, wadi-wadi-foo-foo kind. Since he no longer does this for a living, Greg realizes that previous credits are kinda irrelevant, but that's what bios are supposed to be about, so here goes. A versatile character actor, Greg has performed with professional, regional, and community theaters in 6 states (over 20 different theaters in NJ alone) over the past 30 years. A few credits include 3 Perry Award Nominated performances: Prof. Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Pete in Brothers, and John Vaccaro in Sniper. Even though he's won stugats, Greg is still particularly proud that he was nominated twice for roles that he'd created: Sniper and Brothers were Original Plays, and the Productions were the east coast debuts for both. Equally comfortable in musicals, dramas and comedies, other favorite roles include Vondo in Mary Lynn Dobson's hysterical 2 on the Aisle, 3 in a Van, Herbie in Gypsy (opposite Nancy Barry), Adolph Frietag in Last Night of Ballyhoo, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Jake in Jake's Women, and Oscar in The Odd Couple, (Directed by Hans Friedricks), Greg was trained at Boston University's School of Fine Arts, and was a founding member of The Boston University Stage Troupe. Greg is also a Board Member and Nominations Committee Member of N.J.A.C.T.

Nicole Perperas (Angie Graziano) is delighted to be hitting the Studio stage for the first time. A recent graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Theater Arts, Nicole has performed with the Shoestring Players out of Rutgers where she then went on to perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her favorite roles include Rizzo in Grease, Julie in Jake's Women, and Truvy in Steel Magnolias. Nicole has most recently been seen in New York as a performer in The Buzz NYC's annual monologue night. When not on the stage, she is actively pursuing dance as a hobby.
